High on a cliff, steeped in the fragrance of pine and lemon groves, cypress and sage, Aghios Gordios provides a dramatic view of the bay. Facing west, it is a terrific beach for catching the afternoon sun.
The tavernas in Aghios Gordios are renowned for excellent food. A local speciality is squid stuffed with bacon, cheese and garlic. The village of Aghios Gordios is relaxing, but by no means asleep. It can get busy in high season and there is the occasional disco. Aghios Gordios has a few supermarkets and souvenir shops. For more variety, head to Corfu town. There's Pelekas, at the top of a twisting road and below it the popular resort of Glyfada.
